And now for A-1’s industrial cousin.
The Resolutions say: “I-1 Industrial District. The intent of this district is to establish areas for industrial land uses that require good transportation facilities and utilities and that will not adversely affect neighboring properties. The requirements of this district are designed to promote industrial activities and prevent most other uses.”
Here are the uses allowed ONLY in I-1:
- Manufacturing
- Food processing
- Distilleries, breweries, wineries
- Mining
- Refinement of raw materials
- Truck terminals
- Mini warehouses
- Warehousing/indoor storage
- Wholesale trade
- Outdoor storage yards
- Lumber sales
- Adult uses (not near school, daycare, church, residential)
- Payday/title loan business
These uses are allowed in at least one other zone:
- Outdoor storage of motor vehicles
- Outdoor shooting ranges
- Solar and wind energy systems
- Custom slaughterhouses
- Accessory buildings
I-1 is the only zone that includes a special exception. It is:
- Methadone and Pain Management Clinics. There are several requirements and restrictions associated with this use.
